‘Padmaavat’ Trailer Proves “Less Is More” Is Not Always True.

The master of magnificent - Sanjay Leela Bhansali is giving us the inspiration to go grand with Padmaavat! It's amazing how he places the heavily dressed and accessorised actors and actresses against ornate backgrounds. Every scene stands out in all its glory. We have put together a few glimpses of the film that are going to be trendsetting for sure!

1. Gota Accents

THE GLORIOUS GOTA is back with a bang! The traditional Rajput outfits are laden with gota accents. These are not subtle or delicate but used as broad borders and shimmering kinari on most outfits. We love the earthy richness in colours, which draw your attention to these gold details even more.

2. Pretty Pastels

The pastels used in the outfits for the more intimate scenes are serene. These are perfect for a bride to take inspiration from, for day mehendi and haldi ceremonies. Beige, dusty rose and gold, heavily accessorised, and one cannot miss the gorgeous haath phool worn by Deepika Padukone.

3. 'Bold' Nose Ring

Accessories are always integral, but the Septum ring is for the daring! Deepika Padukone has pulled it with grace. Done right with minimal accessories, a delicate septum ring can look stunning and make a statement.

4. Matha Patti

The 'matha-patti', is our absolute favourite from the trailer and the songs of Padmaavat. Yes, layered matha-pattis is certainly a trend that we will be seeing this season. The warrior princess look, with a statement Matha patti and loose waves, is a distinctive stand out trend.

5. Stunning Jewellery

Of course, we can go on and on about the jewellery from all of Mr Bhansali's movies, but the layering of chokers and necklaces is done beautifully in Padmaavat. One cannot miss the armbands worn on top of embroidered blouse sleeves. We say excess of Indian royalty, rightly captured!

6. Raja's Wardrobe

Lastly, let's talk about the men of Padmaavat! While Ranveer Singh has surprised us with his evil, gothic look; Shahid Kapoor, as a Rajput king looks equally royal. The Pagdi embellished with strings of pearls and jadau polki brooches are outstanding. How can we miss him wearing a layered Hasli with a longer emerald necklace? We already cannot get enough of it and we are so sure there is going to be so much more to take note of in the Movie! See you there?!
